Day 1: London – Washington DC
Depart London for your same day flight into Washington DC, home of the President. So it’s a definite must to pay a visit to the White House, whilst a trip up the 555ft Washington Monument will provide the best views of the city. Stay 3 nights at the Loews Madison Hotel (or similar).
Day 2-3: Washington DC
Pack your days in to see all the main sights of this capital city. Visit the Capitol Hill, where all the important government decisions get made, visit the iconic Smithsonian Institute, and stand on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial where Martin Luther King Jr. famously made his 'I have a dream' speech. But that’s not all Washington DC is known for; as well as famous landmarks, there are a varied mix of urban districts to explore, with Georgetown and Adams Morgan providing the ideal place to relax, shop and dine away from the hustle and bustle of downtown Washington DC.
Day 4: Washington DC – Fort Myers
Fly onwards to Fort Myers – nestled on Estero Island along Florida's sun-drenched Gulf Coast, Fort Myers is the real deal: a beach resort with superb sand, warm crystal waters, and something for everyone. Stay 4 nights at DiamondHead Beach Resort & Spa (or similar).
Day 5-7: Fort Myers Beach
Appealing to families, couples, fishermen, golfers, nature lovers and anyone with an honest appreciation of the good things, Fort Myers Beach will be loved by all. That's because there's plenty of opportunity to relax, and plenty of chances to get active. Relax on the glorious beaches of Sanibel and Captiva Islands, and enjoy the buzz of Fort Myers ‘Times Square’ complete with shops, watersports, restaurants and bars. Or meander along Estero Boulevard away from the Square and the pace slackens, giving way to long stretches of immaculate white sand, with families picnicking and couples stretched out under the sun. Stare out from the shore and you may well spot dolphins at play.
Day 8: Fort Myers – London
After creating memories to remember on this fabulous twin centre combination, your holiday comes to an end as you depart for the airport to catch your return overnight flight back to London.
